Privacy
Last updated 28 October 2026
Carometer is built so that we never have your data. There is no Carometer account, no Carometer server, no advertising, no analytics and no third-party tracking. The App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected.
What the app stores, and where
- Your cars, fill-ups, trips, services, expenses and reminders are stored on your devices. If iCloud is on, they sync through your own private iCloud database, which only you can read.
- Photos you attach (receipts, invoices) are stored the same way, with your device’s data protection.
- Location is used only during trips. Each trip keeps its route and the areas it starts and ends in (looked up with Apple Maps) in your iCloud. Turn off Save trip routes to keep only the distance.
- Voice: when you speak to Carometer, speech recognition and understanding run on your iPhone with Apple’s on-device models. Audio and transcripts are not sent anywhere.
Apple services
iCloud sync, Maps (for naming where trips start and end) and Siri are Apple services and are covered by Apple’s privacy policy. Carometer itself never receives your data from them.
Fuel prices
Carometer suggests the price per litre from your own recent fill-ups. It makes no network request for fuel prices.
Your control
- Export your trips as a CSV mileage log at any time, free.
- Delete any car, fill-up, service, expense or trip from inside the app.
- Turn off iCloud for Carometer in Settings and everything stays on the device.
Children
Carometer is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
